Welsh Government Minister for the Environment and Sustainable Development John Griffiths is urging foresters to learn from the lessons of Europe as they plan for climate change and the future. Speaking to leaders of the forestry sector in Wales at the Senedd this week, Mr Griffiths was highlighting findings in a new report from FUTUREforest, the Forestry Commission Wales three year INTERREG IVC project supported by the Welsh Government.

Foreseeing tomorrow's forests (16-02-2011)
European foresters of the Interreg IVC FUTUREforest project will be meeting on the 21st and 22nd of February at the Foreign and European Office in Paris, in order to address the role of forest faced with climate change. They will have the opportunity to discuss the project with French Forestry Office's Executive Director Pascal Viné and French Forestry Office's Head of the Board of Directors Hervé Gaymard. They will also have to complete a document to be presented to European policymakers at the Brussels meeting in June.
