Knowledge transfer
Politicians, political advisors and policy makers from across Europe joined the FUTUREforest team at the launch of the project’s final report Europe’s Forests and Climate Change – the Voice of the Regions at the European Parliament on 6 September.
As part of a two day event hosted by the European Parliament Intergroup on climate change, FUTUREforest announced a package of recommendations which can help forestry play an even greater contribution to the European economy.
The report also outlines how greater Governmental support would help the sector to lock away even more carbon and do more to prevent natural disasters such as flooding and wildfires.
